10 Worst Countries Using Child Soldiers.

My Map

Child soldiers are any children under the age of 18 who are recruited by a state or non-state armed group and used as fighters, cooks, suicide bombers, human shields, messengers, spies, or for sexual purposes.

My map shows information on 10 of the worst countries for child soldiers. It has a fact on each one telling you something different about each country.

These child soldiers get told to go and fight but they don't understand what is wrong with it, in fact, some think that the people running their army are good people. A former child soldier had to start a whole new life in a different town because his family was all soldiers. He started school and wanted to write his mother a note. Most people in the modern age can read a write their own language and some can do it in different languages but the child soldiers can't do either in some cases die out on the field.

Our class is learning about Taha Wairua (Spiritual Well-being).
Spiritual well-being is your attitude, your personality, and your beliefs.

I have learnt that this well-being means a lot to me and that I should keep to my spiritual well being. I have learnt that this is one of the more important well-being.

The Narrative Reflection Post

What are new thing I have learned?
I have learned how to show not tell and use my sensory language  better.

How is this going to help me become a better creative writer?
 It will help me keep the reader reading and not the getting bored of what is written. It will help me show the story to people not tell them the scenery or the buildings.

What activities did i enjoy from this unit and why?
I enjoyed the show don't tell and the sensory language because it has helped me to write better story's and describe scenes and parts of story's better.

Which styles of learning work best for me?
Reading.
Writing.
Both with music.
Working alone.

Can I identify any obstacles in my learning?
It would be not having all my equipment on the day and not working alone.



Child Slavery Paragraph

We never needed slaves in our society but rich people thought it would benefit them. Children have lost their education, they have lost their rights and they have lost their freedom. Most families are poor or live in poverty. An example of the countries is Somalia, Sudan, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Most children are bought by owners of Mines, carpet factories and brick kilns. They don't get paid very much if at all. Why would people have decided slavery was a good idea when it has lead to so many issues now.

Harriet Tubman Paragraph

We have written this paragraph to show our past 6 weeks of learning on Harriet Tubman and slavery in slave trade triangle.

Harriet Tubman was a "conductor" in the underground railroad. She was born a slave along with her many siblings. Harriet Tubman was called a conductor as a code so that the police would then not find out about the illegal movement of slaves. The underground railroad was a network of escaped slaves which would come back and save more slaves. The underground railroad was very illegal but each person pursued the fact that they wanted to end slavery. Harriet Tubman was an American hero because she saved 300 slaves. She wanted to save many more but could not due to the fact that some slaves were born into slavery.

How did people get to the underground railroad?
Slaves would use songs to signal it is clear to leave or to hide and all slaves knew what the songs were used for.

What is the underground railroad?
The underground railroad was a code for a group of people illegally moving slaves away from their owners and the punishment.

What are Spirituals?
Spirituals are songs that were codes and tricks that the slaves pulled on their owns because owners of slaves thought that the slaves were not as smart when they were smarter.

How would this help slaves?
The Slaves would use their songs as a kinda code as at night people would sing it quietly to signify that it was clear to leave or to hide.

What I found interesting?
I have never talked or known about any of this work so it all was interesting to learn.
