Traditional Maori Medicine

I have learnt that the Maori have created very extensive medical care and that they have been able to heal each other before they were invaded by European's.



Internal herbal treatments were given for:
respiratory ailments like asthma, bronchitis, and coughs.
stomach, bowel, and urinary tract problems.
menstrual and birthing difficulties.
at least one form of tuberculosis.

External herbal treatments were given for:
fractures and wounds
boils.
burns.
eczema.
leprosy.
ringworm.

warts.
